Red Shoes Red Shoes

Today was a fun day in Creative Writing! We're starting our children's books and I'm really excited. I don't know why, but I've always wanted to write a children's book. I mean, I know I want to continue writing for fun and I've got two novels started and two more completely planned out. And for whatever reason I've always had this urge to write a children's book. My friend is really good at art and the plan was I would write it and she would illustrate it. Our book was going to be called The Mouse Who Wore Red Shoes. And it was going to be about a little mouse wore loved his little red shoes but everyone made fun of him for it. Maybe I'll still do that for class... I guess it depends on what our teacher says we need to do.
I think there is a song called Red Shoes... I just can't remember exactly how it goes or even if it exists. Maybe I'm imagining things...

30% 13

Happy Near Valentine's Day everyone! And Happy Friday the 13th! Scary, scary!

I've never been a big fan of Friday the 13th. Mainly because when I was little, my friend and I had a sleepover on Friday the 13th. All sorts of bad things happened from burnt popcorn to ridiculously large spiders that are the size of cats to the erasing of Sabrina the Teenage Witch from the tele (yes, I did just say Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I said in the beginning I was little alright?! And yes, I did just say tele). Nothing seriously bad I guess has ever happened, but it's still fun to keep your eyes peeled for evil little green gremlins who trip people. And now every Friday the 13th I email, text, or call my old friend. We live far apart so we can't have a sleepover, but we always get in touch somehow.

We just had an interesting conversation here in class about how now apparently there are fast zombies. My teacher thinks we should create zombie escape plans and I agree!! I mean, my old plan was always to run. They were slow zombies, I could survive. But now, oh no, they have to be fast zombies!! So basically I've decided that I'm screwed. I guess I'll just have to hide myself away in a cave in the Alps. Hopefully zombies can't climb.
I took a zombie survival quiz online once. I got a 30% chance at surviving...

Poetry in the Photos

As I was browsing about to find a blog with some creative writing and some style, I found an interesting one by the name of Fifty-Four by a woman named Jane. It's really cute. She has lots of photos of her family and of things she thinks are interesting, like her birds and nature. After a lot of the photos she has little free style poems about whatever is in the picture. I really like the poem she wrote about her little dog and it has some cute pictures with it. It's really nifty how she incorporates her love for photography and poetry together. I'm really into photography too (I'm the photo editor for our yearbook) so maybe I'll do some based off of pictures.

When I wrote my poem that's listed below, Before You Get Burned, I actually did have a specific picture of the characters in my head. Even though I couldn't find it, I did enjoy picking out other photos to use. So maybe I'll join in with Jane and write some of my poetry with pictures.
